Embroidered Handicraft

Every item is handmade in Western Mongolia by Women Herders. Each piece of embroidery is unique and takes more than 10 hours to craft.

Gauker doing Kazakh embroideryThese colourful, exquisitely detailed items have their roots in the traditional wall hangings made to decorate nomadic gers (tents) and adorn the clothing of both men and women.

Today the designs are still stitched by hand and are used to make everything from traditional jackets to purses and cushions.
